The Psalms of thanksgiving can be related to praises and laments. The praises adore God in general for who He is and what He has done, but the Psalms of thanksgiving praise God for a specific action of God on behalf of the psalmist. The laments anticipate God’s deliverance but the Psalms of thanksgiving celebrate a deliverance that has already occurred.
